Wagga Wagga ILP

Wagga Wagga Campus

At Wagga Wagga we have a very active and expanding research agenda. We can offer ILP’s in ALL disciplines  - Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Women’s health, All surgical sub-specialties (except Cardiothoracic and Neurosurgery), All medical sub-specialties, Emergency Medicine, Primary Care, Remote GP, Aged Care, Rehabilitation, Medical Administration, Pathology, Medical Education and basic sciences..

We would be more than happy for any student considering doing an ILP in Wagga wagga to contact Head of Campus A/Prof John Preddy by email. Early contact is encouraged (late second year and early third year). A/Prof Preddy and the administration team will then contact suitable academic supervisors and assist with negotiating a project and developing appropriate methodology so that ethics approval can be sought for and granted prior to the ILP commencement date.

In Wagga Wagga we favour a model of  2 supervisors for each student, this allows more support and continuity and maintains academic standards. In general the supervisors would be an experienced ILP supervisor/academic and a clinician in the relevant discipline.

Students are encouraged to maintain an interest in clinical medicine and attend appropriate clinical activities during the year, particularly in the discipline that they are studying.

All ILP’s completed in Wagga wagga have been presented at appropriate post graduate and specialty meetings.
