RCS med student has adventure of lifetime in Tanzania

RCS Port Macquarie's Georgina Dixson just came back from an exciting medical placement in Arusha, the safari capital of northern Tanzania.

"My placement in Mount Meru Hospital starkly contrasted anything I had previously experienced," Georgina says.

"I have been challenged on every level, frustrated, heart-broken and distressed by some of the things that I have seen."

"But despite this, it is rewarding, interesting, and uplifting to spend time in the wards and with the patients - making the children in the Paediatric wards laugh was such a privilege and being able to support and comfort patients in other wards was gratifying."

Read all about her adventures and the amazing insight she got into the local culture and the Tanzanian healthcare system here.
