Accommodation and Travel Reimbursement for Rural Placements

What areas are included?

A limited amount of funding is available to assist with accommodation and travel costs for Australian local students in Phase 2 and Phase 3 (2008) students completing a short term rural placement as part of the UNSW Medical Curriculum. Rurality is determined by the Commonwealth's Rural, Remote and Metropolitan Areas classification scheme (RRMA) and Commonwealth and NSW Government funding conditions stipulate that financial support is only available for students completing placements at a RRMA 3-7 site. International full fee paying students, Rural Clinical School students on extended rural clinical experience and students undertaking rural placements as part of the year 6 elective term are NOT eligible for accommodation and/or travel reimbursement.
