Rural High Schools Medicine Career Week

The Rural High Schools Medicine Career Week is held in July of each year for Year 11 and 12 students from rural and remote high schools in NSW with the aim of motivating rural students to gain entry into a medicine program.

Students visit the Medicine faculties of the Universities of New South Wales, Newcastle and Sydney. The activities of the week expose students to various aspects of city and university life.

Students are selected on the basis of their interest and motivation to study medicine and their academic record. The University of New South Wales coordinates the week, with funding from the University of New South Wales, University of Newcastle and the University of Sydney.

The next Medicine Workshop will be held in July 2008 (dates to be advised). Applications will be sent to all rural NSW high schools in May 2008.

Application forms will also be available from our website, career advisers at all rural high schools in NSW or alternatively contact Justine Brindle on 02 9385 3250 or email: justine@unsw.edu.au
